Deborah Wild was raised on the North Shore of Sydney in a house full of pets and generations. At university, Deb attempted everything from a-z, before focusing on children’s literature.Having raised three children of her own, Deb now lives in the hills of Canberra. When not at her desk, Deb loves spending time outdoors. She cares about wildlife conservation and dreams of a world where animals are free from threat and harm.Further children’s book titles coming next year include: ‘I can’t sleep’, about a family of wombats, and things that go ‘bump in the night’ and another rhyming story about a ‘Sock Eating Shoe’! Both are currently being illustrated and are due for release later this year, by Starfish Bay Publishing.Deb is always working on new story ideas for children and has many imaginary friends wandering about in her study.Deb also loves writing historical non-fiction and is currently preparing a paper about her great grandfather, the first Government Astronomer of the Perth Observatory.
